What is Willing to Wait?
Lighthouse Pregnancy Care center (LPCC) is pleased to offer a character-based educational approach that directly encourages abstinence. The program, entitled Willing to Wait; teaches a positive and realistic lifestyle that promotes self-control, respect, responsibility, and good health.
What can one learn from the curriculum?
The LPCC believes that this program effectively teaches an awareness of current sexuality issues, as well as teaches teens the skills necessary to manage their sexuality responsibly.
Who teaches the curriculum?
Willing to Wait is taught by trained LPCC instructors as part of a school's health, family living, or science classes. The six to eight sessions of the curriculum are designed for middle and high school students.
How is the LPCC serving the communities of Manistee and Benzie Counties?
The LPCC is a non-profit Christian ministry assisting young people in making healthy sexual choices. In addition to free pregnancy testing, they offer baby clothes and furnishings, information, counseling, referrals, and hope to those facing difficulty situations.
