- Life Walk
Saturday, May 9, 2009
WALK for LIFE is the largest fundraiser for Lighthouse Pregnancy Care Center. We welcome mothers with strollers, dads, children, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents and everyone with a love for LIFE. We start at Manistee United Methodist Church on First Street. The morning begins with light, uplifting entertainment, prayer, then a big send off! Not only does LIFE WALK raise funds for LPCC, it gives the community an awareness of our presence and the work that is being done. Consider walking together as a church body. There have been churches that challenge one another to see who can raise the most funds! - Baby Showers
Dates to be determined
Consider hosting a baby shower for Lighthouse Pregnancy Care Center. A representative from LPCC will attend with updated information on the activities and ministry of the center and share stories from working at the center, Guests come with gifts that will be used at the center i.e... diapers, wipes, formula, hangers or any other useful baby items (a list of the center’s most immediate needs will be provided prior to the shower). This is a fun way to get involved and hear about the work that is being done while helping to provide essential items that our clients so desperately need. - Baby Bottles
You may want to incorporate this into Sanctity of Life Sunday!
Have you ever thought how your loose change can help others? We have baby bottles to fill! Invite your church members to take a baby bottle and fill it over the course of a specific time. Every time they put their change in the baby bottle they are reminded of the impact on lives they are touching. Collect them at the end of the specific time period and see how much, as a congregation, you have raised for Lighthouse Pregnancy Care Center. - Christmas in July
Celebrating Life
Northern Christian Radio (91.1FM) focuses on Pregnancy Care Centers during the month of July. Northern Christian radio promotes the ministries and the needs of the PCCs in northern Michigan. There is a specific day (changes from year to year) that is set aside for each center in Northern Michigan and the station does a live remote throughout the day to speak to the director, volunteers, board members or anyone dropping off items for donation.
Get involved! VBS groups have brought in baby items and money raised by the kids during the week of VBS and presented it to the center on that day; they were even live on the air!
